On Monday 25
September 2023 , the prototype of computer-based training for personal weapons
using virtual and augmented reality is delivered to the Armed Forces Academies
Preparatory School as a system demonstration kit for weapon studies of the M16
and HK33 guns at the Auditorium Entry meeting room, 1st floor, DTI.
Gen. Choochart Buakhao, DTI Director General, presides over
the ceremony with Capt. Chanet Singhachan (R.N.), Deputy Commander of the Armed
Forces Academies Preparatory School, as the representative to receive the prototype
for test and evaluation in order to comply with research and development
processes. This project is the second phase under the memorandum of
understanding among DTI, National Defense Studies Institute and King Mongkut's
Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.
It falls under the
technology of military simulation and training whose aim is to embrace and
adopt an advanced modeling and simulation technology for prototypical output.
Test and evaluation that follow will be an indicator that the deliverables
expectedly support and excel military personnel trainings to arrive at personal
knowledge and skills, i.e., the outcome of the project. For DTI, this
prototypical system demonstration kit will strive towards the impact that DTI
plays a significant role in driving the national defence industry via military
simulation and training technology.
